On 29th March, 1915, the 1st Royal Berkshire battalion of 6 Brigade, 2nd Division, moved into the front line at the Cuinchy brick works where they remained until relieved on 3rd April. Edmund Russell was killed was killed here on 3rd April when the battalion exploded a mine under the enemy trenches before they left. |
